A powerful CEO puts her career and family on the line when she embarks on a whirlwind romance with her much younger intern. Jean Reno filmed scenes for the film, but they were cut entirely from the finished film. Female "empowerment" takes the form of a plot involving a much older woman pursuing a much younger man. This time, though, the guy looks old enough to be her grandson. How far are they going to take this tired old scheme?

I know old Hollywood was filled with older actors going after younger actresses, but the plot of the story had nothing to do with her age. And the older actor targeted her because she was younger. Movies these days seem to be lazy, with the same old old woman/younger man plot, but the older woman pursuing the man is purposeful, and his age is used as some kind of annoying, validating factor. .Funny though, when male characters are portrayed with much younger actresses, they are seen as dirty old men going through a midlife crisis. When an older woman does it, she is seen as «chic»; and «liberated.» As someone else here pointed out, what’s up with the hypocrisy and double standards.
actors who can still get great roles
This plot is getting really tiresome, but if they want to keep it up, call it what it is. Dirty old woman looking to validate herself by catching a younger man. To prove to herself she is still worthy. That’s what women have said about men in the same situation. Haven’t we heard for years that older actresses are getting old from so many movies («unfair») compared to older.

Hardly. There are actually a lot of great roles for older actresses. But why are so many of them tied to this theme of hooking up with a much younger man. Of course there are better parts for women that have some substance, not scheming. Let’s see some creativity in storytelling.
Not just their attempts to validate themselves with younger men
Let’s look at some storylines that feature some of our great, older actresses, but don’t involve another young man. We need to see women being successful women because of their skills and offerings.
